Today in the morning hours of 26th January 2009, a small collective of Sahaja Yogis offered their prayer and respect to our most Holy Mother Shri Mataji in Her residence- Pratishthan in Pune to celebrate the Republic Day of India. It was indeed a very special day for India. Shri Mataji blessed all Her children and paid respect to the Indian flag as it was placed before Her with highest respect for the nation (that was placed on petals of roses). Shri Mataji stared deep into the yogis as if to remind them all the essence of the dedication, devotion and respect for the nation. This very day reminds us all how in the earlier days She made us all aware that there should be a real selfless devotion towards that Deshmata (Mother of the Nation) and refrain from greed and rampant corruption. She even taught us how the very essence of the address of the word ‘Deshmata’ (Mother Nation) should occupy a position within us, perhaps higher than that of Mother, while Desh-bhakti forms the foundation of our Sharaddha.
She also reminded us from time to time that one cannot hope to achieve union with the Divine when he does not love one’s own nation. Devotion for the country will only develop from an intimate knowledge of all that is around us. Explaining the fundamentals of imbibing the true knowledge, Shri Mataji once said, one must know everything about their national pride. It may be anything- may be knowledge about their rich cultural heritage, the proud legacy of saints, realized souls, artists and freedom fighters, the most fragrant flowers , the highest mountains; the holiest of temples and greatest example of architecture. Because She always believed one must know how the British, the Chinese, the Russians and even the Americans were actually aware of every minute details about their nation, their geography, agricultural produce, their history and their culture and how much pride they felt in being citizens of their respective country.
Shri Mataji had always been very concerned about the beautiful people of India. Her deep concern was on imbibing the feeling of belongingness and knowledge of ones’ own country that is gradually dwindling. She always desired and taught that we need to reaffirm our dedication with more essence of patriotism and revive that emotion of belongingness by looking back to our roots, using our own national products, exploring our hidden treasures and realize why the overseas people are often seen kissing the soil of this land, at their arrival at the airport itself. What we require at this present time is to have deeper understanding of the many maladies of our own nation and start focusing our realized attention (Chitta) to work on those problems. She had also been reminding us of how our collective attention can work wonders on several national issues and help resolve them easily. This will be our service as realized souls on this country. By being a model Sahaja Yogis and taking on many wrecking issues and facing them to resolve it should be our prime focus. As divine helps from behind who always love his country. In Her earlier days message She also often reminded us how much compassion, patience and dedication is required to be exercised by us to bring people of all communities closer and embrace them within our global family. She also emphasized that all the facts, evidences and speeches cannot replace love when it comes to winning over hearts and that is the only mantra to win over everyone with the tool of Love and following the path of truth.
However, introspecting on the earlier days of message of Shri Mataji as we used to celebrate in Her Holy presence, it does remind us our duty as Yogis. We thank You Shri Mataji for reviving all the sense of patriotism and belongingness for our own country on this day. We pray for Your blessings to be devoted citizen of the country.
Coincidently, this auspicious day also marks the celebration of the ‘Australian Day’ that falls on 26 th January. But, another great event that brings yet more joy in the Sahaja Yoga family is the news of conferring Padma Vibhusan, the second highest Civilian Award by the President of India to our most respected family member, Sir CP. It is a great pride for our family that our most beloved Papaji, Sir CP has been conferred upon the second highest Civilian award- Padma Vibhusan for the year 2009 by the President of India.
